School Rules


1.   Code of Conduct


1.       Pupils who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Pupils are to take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.

2.       Be gracious to everyone at all times.

3.       Practise intergrity in everything you do.

4.       Be versatile and adaptable.

5.       Shoe empthy to all.

6.       Be responsible for your actions

7.       Be neat and tidy. Male pupils are to be clean shaven, and not to wear beards and moustaches.

8.       The pupils are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.

 

2.    Attendance and Punctuality

 

·       Pupils are expected to be in school on every school day.

·       If a child falls sick, he must be covered by either a medical certificate or a letter from his parent. This should be handed to the form teacher when the child returns to school.

 

3.    Leaving School during School Hours

 

·       Pupils are not allowed to leave the school during school hours unless parents come personally and obtain permission from the Principal / Vice-Principal.

 

·       Parents are to sign out at the reception counter in the General Office when taking their children home.

 

4.    National Anthem / Assembly / Pledge-taking

 

·       All pupils are to be ready for the Assembly and Flag-Raising ceremony every morning by 7.20am (AM session) at the assembly. Pupils in the PM session are to be in their homerooms by 12.30pm.

 

·          Late-comers as well as parents / visitors, who are in the school premises, should stand at attention during the singing of the National Anthem and the taking of the Pledge.

 

5.    Classroom Conduct

 

·       Pupils are to stand up and greet the teacher when he/she enters or leaves the class.

·       Pupils late or absent for a lesson without good reason will face disciplinary action.

·       All pupils must leave the classroom during recess. No pupil should remain in the classroom during recess, unless supervised.

·       No food is to be consumed in the classroom.

 

6.    School Uniform

 

·       The school uniform must be worn in school and at all school activities.

·       School T-shirts and approved CCA T-shirts are allowed during co-curricular activities and other school/class functions.

·       During PE lessons and games practices, pupils must wear their school T-shirt and school shorts.

·       All pupils coming to school for CCA or at any time outside curriculum time must wear the school uniform.  

 

7.    Accessories

 

·       No valuables are to be brought to school.

·       Any chunky piece of jewellery, electronic device, handphone or toy will be handed over to the Discipline Master for safe-keeping until a parent/guardian comes to school to retrieve it.

·       Girls may wear plain gold/silver round or stud earrings. Multiple earrings are not allowed.

·       Boys are not allowed to pierce ears or wear earrings/ear studs.

·       Spectacles (if worn) should be plain and not-tinted.

·       Nails must be kept short and clean.  No varnish or hardener is allowed.

    

8.    Hair

 

·       Hair must be neat and tidy at all times.

·       No fancy hair styling or colouring of hair is allowed for all pupils.

·       Girls’ hair must be above base of collar or neatly tied up.

·       Fringes must be neat and above the eyebrows.

·       All ribbons, rubber bands and hair clips used must be black or brown.

·       Boys’ hair should be cut short.

 

9.    Recess Time

 

·       For hygiene reasons, all pupils are encouraged to: -

i)      wash their hands before and after consumption of food; &

ii)     use forks and spoons when consuming their food.

     

·       Used crockery must be returned to the respective receptacles provided.

 

·       When the music is played towards the end of recess time, pupils should make their way back to their respective classrooms in an orderly manner.

 

 

10. Use of School Facilities

 

·          Pupils should regard the school as their second home and treat the school property with care in order to maintain the school premises in good condition.

 

·          Any accidental damage to any school property should be reported immediately to the teacher-in-charge or to the office.


·       The Staff Room is out of bounds to all pupils for security reasons.
